Our kitchen table lamp had an abrupt encounter with gravity and the laws of physics. (It fell off the table.) Until we fix it, we grabbed another one. It only took a day before it started to sport Zentangles. This will be a fun one to tangle. We'll show you results later. Here's how it's starting out.
Oh yes, here's its lampshade. It's made of an artificial vellum. That fabric swatch covers a hole the bulb melted one day it got too close. We have too much fun!

Another great idea! Is the lamp base made of wood or plastic? And do you use the Sakura Micron pen to draw your tangles? What size pen tip is used to tangle on surfaces other than paper?
Thanks for the inspiration!
Tricia
We just used the micron graphic 1, sightly smaller than a sharpie marker (size tip).....the lamp is either painted wood or some sort of composite.... these pens work but take a while to dry....so be careful not to smudge it while working on it. TANGLERS.....maybe you have better suggestions of what pens to use and share that info.. fun to do different surfaces to push the creativity........best, maria (and rick)
I might have to zentangle on my dog the way things are going.....
Kass, I am cracking up here at your comment. I have a white dog. Might give it a try!
Maria, my daughter had caught the tangle fever and I find them everywhere! She has even tangled her bedroom windows with bingo markers. I am not sure if I will show her your lamp idea or not. I have a driftwood lamp......
