New Tangle "_____"

We have a new tangle!

As we said in this newsletter, this time we're trying something a bit different.

You get to name it. Post your suggestions below. The winner will receive a set of Zentangle Coasters.

You get to deconstruct it. It you figure out first how it's done (there are hints on the newsletter) we'll also send you a set of Zentangle Coasters. Just post a link to an image of your "step-out" instructions in your reply to this blog.

Here are a few of the newsletter images.

We'll post the instructions and the winners in about a week in our newsletter.

Note:
We'll need a way to contact the winners. So if you are posting as "anonymous" we won't be able to contact you.

Have fun!

More Mi^2

Maria writes:

One of my favorite new tangles is Mimi Lempart's Mi2.

You can see it here in the middle of this first tile.

It is a tangle that requires more focus than some others.

Well, as you can see on this next tile, my focus must have wandered because it obviously does not look like Mi2 but it still looks pretty cool. (The Mi2 effort is the tangle on the right side of the tile.)

Just goes to show . . . there are no mistakes in Zentangle - just seeds of possibilities for new tangles yet to be named!

Eccentric Concentric #74

Laura Harms' 74th challenge is to use concentric circles for strings.

Here's Maria's contribution:

If you are new to Zentangle, this may look a bit complicated. However all the Zentangle patterns and creations you see here and around the web are each done one simple stroke at a time in a particular sequence.

It's also how those tree rings appeared: one at a time as each ring eccentrically concentrically aura'd the one before it.

Graduation

Terri and Ed's daughter, Siggy, just graduated from the University of Massachusetts.

Here's a look at how she decorated her mortar board.

That is so cool!

For those of you who attended our early Certified Zentangle Teacher seminars, you will remember Terri and Ed as our hosts at Oakhurst.

Thanks for sending that, Terri.

Congratulations, Siggy!
