Bordering

Maria has been exploring individual Zentangle tangles as borders. She discovered that pretty much any tangle can work as a border.

In this next tile, notice how static meanders - almost as if there was a string within a string (second border from left). Tangles like these underscore shading's impact.

Next, notice how her stripes of tangles are a form of aura.

  1. I often have a dream where I find a whole new room in my house that I didn't know was there. This post is like finding that room! I especially love the string within a string idea. Exciting! Thank you!

  2. I also have had the dreamS of the elusive rooms......finding them, but never being able to share them with anyone because of not being able to locate them a second time......and they were spectacular! Wonder what it means...Maria

  7. Spectacular!
It's funny I just completed 6 zentangles using the same simple string. Usually I spend so much time on doing one but these 6 seemed to flow smoothly.

  8. I love these but I want to know in the first tile, the center tangle with the 4 squares with the circles, what is that tangle and do you have instructions on how to do this particular tangle.

    Thanks.

  9. dear craftydr...............let's see if we can deconstruct it! the first strokes (the only complete ones) are the almost horizontal ones .(2 each) then the almost vertical ones get "woven" BEHIND the first ones..... then go back to the smaller horizontal stripes between the original ones (always going behind the existing ones) then smaller stripes vertical). Then you have some fun 'nzeppelling the spaces. Boy, it does sound like I'm from another planet.... hope that helps m

    Love your work.
