Wow. The simplicity of 'nzeppel is amazing. I love this circular version.
When I first began to tangle, I didn't feel confident about shading. I have since taken apart already-framed pieces to shade them! As you have shown us here today, it makes such a difference!
When I first started tangling, I wasn't sure about shading them. Once I got the hang of it, I even took some unshaded pieces out of frames and added to them. As you have illustrated today, don't be afraid of the shade!
I must admit that there was once a time that I was timid about shading. I now take pencil lovingly in hand. My Zentangle ritual would not be complete without giving my shaded sections a gentle rub. With that kiss of energy I feel complete.
I am grateful for these strong examples. Coming from outside the 'art' world shading is a challenge for me;I so understand the difference it makes. These will help with teaching others as well thanks

These are fun. The bottom one could be shaded in several different ways. Actually, so could the top one.
ReplyDeleteThanks.

ReplyDeleteThanks, it's fascinating how adding dark emphasizes the light.
