This week's challenge from Laura Harms is "Breathe."
Maria created this before breakfast today.
She kept waking up last night wondering what she was going to do. She ended up doing one side of these hollibaugh-esque tendrils on an inhale, and the other side on an exhale. Then, just to un-serious it up a bit, added some bronx cheers, which, as I pointed out, are themselves a form of an exhale! :-)
Thanks again, Laura, for a great challenge series.

The Bronx cheers are appropriate for this challenge, I think! One of the other sides to zentangle is accepting 'mistakes'. In other words, to take a breath and move on, letting the mistake become a beautiful part of the whole.
ReplyDeleteThis Zentangle reminds me of the four winds (unsurprisingly tonight - my time 4.30 a.m.). I'm sitting here listening (internet radio) to another type of breath. The breath of the World (cyclone Yasi) is spreading destruction across far north Queensland. We won't know the full extent of this breath across the Country until the morning. I think, if I wake in the night, I shall tangle out my frustration (it's over 1000 miles north of me - I am in absolutely no danger, but also completely helpless to do anything constructive). It's like the whole country is holding its breath, waiting for the sun rise and keeping vigil. My thoughts and love to all those in FNQ* (*far north Queensland). Remembering to breathe (now and then), but I do feel, quite strongly, that I'm sitting here surrounded by this loving community of tangle friends. (Dragging myself away from the radio now to get some sleep.)
ReplyDeleteKit, we will all be breathing for you in such a difficult time. Thoughts are with you and your neighbors. Maria
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maria... just... thank you. Some smiles amidst the tears on the radio tonight. ♥ Namaste
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with Australia...during the hours and days ahead!
ReplyDeleteMay this breath sustain and not harm...
ReplyDeleteWow! The sun comes up and (so far) we're all still breathing. ♥ you all for your kind words for northern Australia here and on Facebook (Yasi is now category 1 - that's a good thing). Thank you Laura for your wonderfully 'calming' challenge this week (how often we forget to just breathe!)... and for the extra tangle strings of friendship you've been a catalyst in creating. ♥ and hugs to Artoo, too. Tangle time, I think.
ReplyDeleteMarie, this is lovely and it certainly does Breathe. Your "hollibaugh-esque" tendrils do show the strings of friendships that are evolving and growing as we all Zentangle together.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful tangle. It reminds me of jelly fish all tangled together.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this tangle?
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to be a !
ReplyDeleteThe word Wormhole suddenly comes to mind :-)
