On the 7th day of 3Zs . . .

On the seventh day of 3Zs
Bijou offered me
Dark and naughty knightsbridge . . .

Swirling molygon-ings,
Gold, glowing tipples,
Some marasu encircling,
Winsome bits of shattuck,
Fetching diva dancing,
And a tile full of tripoli!

Alfie wants to show you this shell (no, it's not Bijou!) because it reminds him of knightsbridge mixed with marasu.

When it came time to arrange this mosaic of 28 3Zs, Alfie at first felt overwhelmed.

But then in true Zentangle fashion of one tile at a time, pretty soon he had assembled this exquisite mosaic.

He was quite happy to discover that when he trusted himself, he easily created something he wanted to share with others.

-----+-----

Thank you all for continuing to play with these twelve days!

The hashtag for today's tile is: #7thdayof3zs

To see the guidelines for these 12 days, go here.

We will give out a prize for one randomly chosen poster of each day's tiles on the app and also for one randomly chosen commenter on each day's blog post. (We'll announce the winners shortly after the twelfth day.)

And here's knightsbridge:

See you tomorrow!

So cool to see what such a simple pattern and a little imagination can do! Knightsbridge is a staple

Love dark and naughty as well as bright and nice Knightsbridge, in fact anyway it is served up. The above are beautiful exhibits of its versatility from foundatonal strong 'bricks' to fluttering checkered cloths all adding drama with its bold coloring. Thanks for bringing this to the fore as we start the second half of this challenge!

Love Knightsbridge! It's going to add a lovely bold contrast.

Love the drama Knightsbridge adds!

Fascinating to see the same strings appearing & yet the tiles looking utterly different, shall have to go back over the days & see if there's a system in the strings......... Alfie certainly has his work cut out with all the tiles being arranged, I can see if he were to prevaricate he'd never get started & that's one of the most important lessons that tangling teaches............ get started

Yah! Knightsbridge is my favorite tangle.

Oh Goody! I was hoping Knightsbridge would pop up:-) That Mosaic is amazing. I'm quite inspired to keep going past day 12 so I can build a collection like this.

Knightsbridge provides a nice contrast to balance some of the other tangles. The shell is cool. My fourth grade tanglers point out connections to nature--and manmade structures all the time!

I will never look at Knightsbridge the same way again... Dark and Naughty - wow!

Knightsbridge.... so simple yet bold. Looks so different tiny vs. big and very square vs. more harlequinesque, so you can really get variety!

Downhill from here... this has been such a fun challenge!! 😄😄

Wow, they look so incredible! Knightsbridge is probably the first tangle I ever really noticed, and it will always remain a fave of mine. It is so simple, but has so much untapped promise. I love it.

How exciting to be adding drama! Or should I say more drama! I love it!

I seem to have ended up challenging myself to do a monotangle each day - which makes Knightsbridge quite a challenge - how to get interest in with only that tangle. But then of course, there is shading!

Knightsbridge, one of my many favorites, so many variations.

I enjoyed Alfie's learning process and lesson about trusting himself. Also the shell combining knightsbridge and marasu - gorgeous and a beautiful example of recognizing patterns in everyday life.

Beautiful embellishments to Knightsbridge!

Unknown said...

I'm finding it helpful / inspirational to see the basic tangles not only named and stepped out, but done in variations, and also not in the typical square --- "outside the box," as they say.
