Snow Day!

Snow continues to fall here in Whitinsville, Massachusetts at Zentangle HQ. We managed to dig ourselves out a bit . . .

. . . but as you can see here . . .

We will not be shipping any packages today!

As soon as shipping does resume, we will send this Bijou tile in a Bijou frame . . .

. . . to Daniel Lamothe, whom we randomly picked from among the many wonderful folks who commented on our recent enyshou blog. Daniel, please email your shipping address to maria@zentangle.com.

Thank you Daniel, and thank you to all who took your time to write such wonderful comments.

enyshou

Maria Writes. . .

I have been really busy with life and all its wonders. But in the interstices (defined as an intervening space, especially a very small one), I have found all I need to keep me focused.

enyshou is a tangle from our very first collection. We haven't said much about it, nor have we posted step-outs. I saw something sort of like it once, and created my interpretation of it. I find it very organic, yet structured at the same time. A few of these were middle of the night meanderings . . . .

It has been my "go-to" or "mac 'n cheese" tangle lately and I thought I'd share a few with our tangle friends around the world.

If you are so inclined, you can contact a CZT near you for a class.

Perhaps you will end up with your own version of it. How cool is that?

Our best to you on this bright, albeit crisp, sunny January morning.

Rick adds:

I love how Maria used a pre-strung Renaissance Zendala tile for that first image . . . and then totally ignored its string! Strings offer a matrix of many benefits, including your ability to go beyond it when you choose.

We will put that Zentangle Bijou™ tile in a Bijou frame and send it to a randomly chosen lucky responder.

What is your current favorite late night tangle?

Welcome CZT XVII !

Please welcome this amazing group of people from all over this world, members of the 17th CZT class of November, 2014:

  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Netherlands

200 !

IamtheDivaCZT, aka Laura Harms, CZT, aka "The Diva" has posted her 200th weekly Zentangle challenge.

Congratulations Laura on your "Bi-Zen-Tennial Celebration"!

This week, Laura challenged us to:

". . . use your Mac'N'Cheese tangle in a Monotangle.  Or, in other words: create a tile using ONLY your go to, or favourite tangle.

"And let's take advantage of the WHOLE tile! No borders! Let's extend from end to end, and fill our tiles BURSTING with Tangly JOY!

"And finally - put the number 200 (big or small) somewhere on your tile."

Maria used rixty . . .

I (Rick) used paradox . . .

(Laura, two "C" shapes facing each other formed its string.)

In honor of this special event, Maria (who I think writes awesome limericks) composed . . .

Two hundred is quite a "festiva"
Can anyone hardly believe a. . .
Goddess named Laura
Zentangled an aura
All around us. . . ."Viva la Diva!"

Congrats again, Laura! Thanks for creating such a fun tradition in this wonderful Zentangle community.

P.S.

Laura would love to have 200+ tiles for this event. So, we encourage you to join this celebration with your tile. And be sure to check out all the amazing tiles already there at this link.

P.P.S.

She's got give-aways! :-)
