I did my first zentangle 2 weeks ago, when a friend shared with us what she learned at Art in the Carolinas. I drew the 2 small quilts (pix attached, I hope) that morning, then colored, quilted and beaded them later. She included these two gems:

Beautiful work!
These are gorgeous! Wonderful examples of how to combine Zentangling into distinctive, original pieces...
Delicately dreamy!
I want to see those bigger!! Are they on fabric? The colours are stunning!
These are stunning and I want to learn how to do the quilting with the zentangles.
WOW!!!
You know, you can also bead onto cardboard or heavy paper...!!! I have done it numerous times making ATCs.
What a superb pair of images, and what a great great idea - I had not thought to bead my Z's. On to the bead box this weekend!

Ghoopz, I should probably say how I do the beading on cardboard.
I draw the design, prick holes in the cardboard with a fine pin, thread the needle and use small seed beads (usually 11/0, nothing larger than 8/0 and sometimes bugle beads or even sequins). I go in and out of the same hole to attach a bead - you'll see how this works when you try it. After I'm done, I cut a piece of thin paper for a backing, spread glue with a glue stick, turn the piece back side up on a folded towel (so it doesn't scratch or buckle) and gently press down the backing and burnish VERY CAREFULLY with a finger.
Lee, is that you???? Nice to see your voice. M
These are stunning!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!

These pieces are absolutely gorgeous! They take Zentangle to a whole new level. Great work CC! :-)
WOW! What a wonderfully creative idea and so beautifully done! A whole different way to use zentangles.I love mixed media.
Spectacular!
So pleasant to see these darling pieces. Fun with beads and embellishments. Another avenue of experience.
All I can say is WOW!!!
Oh WoW! Awesome. I love beads and quilting. What a clever way to get a pattern.

Did you draw on fabric, color in and then quilt and bead! Love it!
These are awesome pieces of work; however it would be nice if the artist would include a brief discription of what type of materials were used. Is it fabric or is an artistic rendition of a quilt done on paper?
In answer to anonymous - it was drawn on fabric with a zig marker, then colored with watercolor pencil and blended out with a water brush, heat set, then quilted and beaded. I bead after quilting, not before and carry the thread between the layers. I hope this helped.
